Pies Statement

Statement: I love cooking! My first ‘formal’ dinner was potatoes 3 I love cooking! My first “formal” dinner was potatoes three ways – tater tots; baked potatoes with sour cream and chives; and fluffy, creamy whipped potatoes. I made that dinner for my family when I was eight. It made them happy, it made them laugh, and it stimulated a lot of conversation. Eventually I learned that art could be like food. Both had the potential to give large numbers of people nourishment, provocation, and contemplation.

My passion for food and art intensified and as a young adult I was working in NYC as pastry chef and using my earnings to finance an art studio on 123rd and Amsterdam. These pies touch on my former life and honor the fine art of luxury food production.
